During our aromatherapy massage we use massage oil that contains highly concentrated plant oils (essential oils).
Essential oils can work two different ways – by inhalations and also through absorption. They can make beneficial changes to your mind and body by affecting the limbic system, a part of the brain that’s involved in emotion.
Aromatherapy massages are a type of therapy that uses essential oils during a massage. We alternate between gentle and harder pressure whilst using a blend of essential oils. The oils we use have healing properties that work by being absorbed into the skin and inhaled during the treatment.
Essential oils are highly concentrated plant oils. It’s said that each essential oil has different healing properties, for example, some calm you down and others are supposed to make you feel more energised. Some can help with pain, some help with anxiety.
Aromatherapy is said to help with lots of different conditions and concerns such as: fibromyalgia, arthritis, back pain, anxiety, muscle tension and premenstrual syndrome.
There are many reasons to choose aromatherapy, such as: it’s risk free, it works on both your mind and body at the same time, it helps to relieve chronic pain and it’s calming.
